How A Weight Loss Journal Can Make You Lose Weight Easily

There are many ways of losing weight but not all of them are effective. If you are serious about losing weight, you should go back to basics. A handy notebook and pen does a lot of difference. What can a pen and notebook do? They can help you start up a weight loss journal.
What does a weight loss journal do? It keeps track of the food you are eating and beverages you are drinking. Why is there a need to keep record of the food you eat and beverages you drink? This is one way of controlling what you put inside your body. You will know if you are already going over the required body needs. The most common problem among a lot of people is that they just don’t know how much they are already taking in.
You should also include in your journal the portion sizes of what you are taking in. It is important that you look at the “nutrition information” on food labels. Our body needs a particular amount of calories. You should not go over your body’s required calories.
Keeping record of your eating speed will also help. A lot of people eat too fast. The speed of eating actually contributes to weight loss. The brain doesn’t know immediately if you are already full. It takes at least 20 minutes before the stomach can send impulse to the brain that it is already full. So if you eat too fast, you will eat more before you will feel full.
Your weight loss journal should also include when, where and how you eat. If you eat every 2 hours in big amounts of food, chances are you will have a hard time achieving your weight loss goal. The location where you eat also matters. You will notice a pattern of eating. If you notice that you eat too much if you are on the kitchen, then you can change location. How do you eat? Some people eat too much if they watch television while eating or if they are eating with friends. These information must be included in your weight loss journal.
Furthermore, it is a good idea to include in your journal your emotion when you eat. Try to find a pattern. Do you eat too much if you are happy or do you eat too much if you are feeling depressed? Emotion contributes a lot to eating habits so it must be given attention.
Keeping a journal of your eating habits will largely affect weight loss. It will take a little of your time but surely it does pay off.
