Most people spend their youth wishing they were older forgetting that with age comes aging! When they do finally become older they wish we were once again young or at least, younger looking.

Of course, there's no miracle product that'll make a senior look like a teen. However, you can do things that will help, as part of a good anti-aging skin care program. While these tips won't make anyone look like a kid again, they will experience improved texture and tone, and healthier skin. Healthier skin will be less prone to blemishes and wrinkles, too.

Cleansing your face is an essential part of any anti-aging skin care regimen. You need to get the day's makeup, dirt, pollutants, and other irritants off your skin and out of your pores. As the body sleeps it renews and reenergizes itself, and this includes your skin.

It doesnt take much to clog the pores up with cosmetics, dirt and other small particles that can easily work their way in to you pores. You need to treat your skin gently to help aid the process of your anti-aging skin care regime. Using regular and harsh soaps will only cause more damage to your skin.

These soaps that you use on your hands and in the shower are far too rough on your skin and will dry your face and cause flaking. This dryness is part of what contributes to wrinkles and other blemishes. You need to use cleansers that are made for your face and that won't be this harsh.

In addition to cleansing, another important part of an anti-aging skin care regiment is moisturizing. During the course of the day, just about everything we do removes moisture from our skin. Exposure to the elements, particularly harsh weather, can make this a lot worse.

Stress is a part of everyones life and you may notice that a friend or neighbor who is under a good amount of stress looks a lot older than he/she actually is. Stress causes you to tense up and when you strain your facial muscles as well, which draws even more moisture out of your skin. A daytime anti-aging skin cream is something everyone should use to help protect your face from the elements and for women it acts as a protective barrier between your skin and makeup. A nighttime anti-aging skin cream will help your body with the natural process of repairing its self.

Taking good care of yourself overall is another important aspect of any good anti-aging skin care routine. You need to drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, watch your diet, and get adequate amounts of rest as well.

Neglecting any of these things will reveal itself in your skin's condition. And really, what good is any anti-aging skincare product or routine if you're not rested or don't hydrate yourself by drinking enough water? There are very few products on the market that can make up for neglecting your health or for not getting enough rest.

Instead of looking for a lotion or wrinkle cream, be sure to stay healthy. Taking care of yourself is the best kind of anti-aging skin care you can practice. Combined with good cleansing routines and moisturizing, being healthy will help you look young for many years to come.
