If you don't like small bars of soap and small bottles of shampoo pack your own. The cruise ship will provide you with similar selection of soap as well as shampoo as you would expect in a hotel. Remember to pack your toothpaste, toothbrushes and any lotions. Make sure you take enough for the duration of your cruise and enough for everyone.

Take extra spending money for emergencies or if you want to dime out whilst in a port of call or for shopping. Don't take large amounts of cash it is advisable to take travelers cheques as these can be replaced, cash can't. Credit cards are widely accepted in Alaska.
